Hergla & Tekrouna: From Fisherman’s Alleys to the Amazigh Citadel

What Makes This Experience Special?

Uncover Secret Corners: We’ll take you through the whitewashed soul of Hergla, guided by our local expert Hakim, to find hidden sea views and stories only locals know.

Master a Timeless Craft: We don't just want you to watch; we want you to weave. Get hands-on with a Halfa workshop and learn the "secret sauce" of Hergla’s artisan heritage.

A Taste of the Mediterranean: We’ll share a traditional lunch prepared with the freshest local ingredients, turning a simple meal into a shared cultural feast.

The Stone Citadel: We conclude by ascending to the iconic village of Tekrouna, a breathtaking stone citadel perched high above the plains with views that reach the horizon.

We invite you to step into the "slow travel" rhythm of Tunisia and create memories that truly stick.

🔵🟠 Your Day's Journey

➡️ Step 1: Unlocking Hergla’s Secrets

We begin by wandering the blue-and-white winding alleys of Hergla. Hakim will lead you past the bougainvillea to the fishing harbor, sharing the secrets of this cliffside village that has watched over the Mediterranean for centuries.

➡️ Step 2: The Guest House & The Workshop

Next, we visit a charming local guest house to experience the warmth of Tunisian hospitality. From there, we dive into the "Magician" side of our brand: a Halfa (esparto grass) weaving workshop. You'll work with a local artisan to transform raw grass into a handcrafted piece of your own.

➡️ Step 3: A Traditional Family Lunch

Time to refuel! We share a traditional lunch featuring coastal specialties. We believe that sharing a table is the best way to open hearts, and this is where our cultural discussions truly come alive.

➡️ Step 4: The Ascent to Tekrouna

We conclude our journey by heading inland to Tekrouna. Perched 300 meters high on a rocky outcrop, this ancient Amazigh (Berber) stone village offers a 360-degree panorama of the plains and the sea. It’s the perfect place to reflect on the day as the sun begins to dip.

ℹ️ For reference only: Itineraries are subject to change.

🟠🔵 Full Description

At WildyNess, we are "graveurs de souvenirs"—engravers of memories. We know that a trip without human connection is just a visit, so we’ve curated this experience to ensure you never have a "blank time" in Tunisia. We partner with local passionate experts like Hakim to bring you the "Real Tunisia" that standard tours often miss.

Our mission is to mark your spirit with the duality of the coast and the mountains. In Hergla, we empower you to become a "Creator" as you learn the ancient art of Halfa weaving from master artisans who treat us like family. You’ll feel the pulse of a village where fishermen and craftsmen have worked side-by-side for generations.

The journey then shifts from the sea to the sky as we visit Tekrouna. This stone citadel is one of the few places where the Amazigh soul of the region is still tangible in every rock and narrow path. Join our "caravan" for a day designed to nurture both your body and soul, leaving a positive mark on the local community as you go.

🟠🔵 WildyNess Tips

When you reach the top of Tekrouna, ask Hakim to show you the "Le Rocher Bleu" cafe. Sipping a mint tea while looking out over the Gulf of Hammamet from the highest point of the village is a moment of pure magic that you won't want to rush!
