Overview

"Fellega" is a word used to describe the former Tunisian militants against the French colonial domination.

It may seem unexpected, even surprising, but the field of their hideout is a perfect place for a hike that combines nature and history.

This is a unique experience that we invite you to live that will allow you to safely discover places unknown to the general public.

Course of this experience

You will be accompanied by a professional guide near the Nebeur forest in the Mellegue sector situated in the North of El Kef governorate.

Come on, let's go for an average hike of 12 km full of emotion in a unique place, that used to be a battlefield just a century ago!

By discovering the small caves previously used as defense posts, your guide will retrace the main moments of this era with some explanations that will give you an overview of the daily life of these fighters and their heroism during the assaults.

We're not bored! The exchanges within the group are rich and the atmosphere is particularly friendly in a superb natural setting where migratory birds, rivers and Aleppo pine forests blend!

Continuing on your way, your guide will take you to the Roman baths: archaeological remains dating from the end of the fourth century proving the presence of an entire ancient spa in the past.

This walk continues in the community of Mellegue, where your guide will offer you to taste local organic products as well as a typical lamb meal from the region.

For the most curious, visits to weaving or pottery workshops can also be organised.
