Kerkennah consists of two main islands: Gharbi, also called Mellita after the name of the village it shelters, and Chergui or Grande Kerkennah made up of twelve islets, Gremdi, Roumadia, Rakadia, Sefnou, Charmadia, Ch'hima, Keblia, Jeblia, El Froukh, Firkik, Belgharsa and El Haj Hmida.
