Kids Summer Camp: Complete Itinerary
Day 1

 

  • Around 5PM, Shaggag's team will pick up campers from Abha International Airport.
     
  • After arriving at 6PM, kids will get introduced to the camp and facilities and then have free time to enjoy the camp (Volleyball, Football, Archery, Airguns, Board games) Before heading to dinner at 8PM.
     
  • The lights will be out at 11PM after spending the 2 hours before watching a movie on a projector screen.

Day 2

 

  • Day 2 will start with a good breakfast for the campers before they start the "Leave no Trace" training.
     
  • After that, kids will participate in the Wilderness cooking experience "Haneeth" just before lunch.
     
  • In the afternoon time, they will have a participatory art "Asseeri Qatt" then head to the hiking location for a 2-hour hike before heading back to camp where they will have dinner and finish the day with a lovely warm evening around the camp fire.

Day 3
  • Children will start the day with a good, energetic breakfast before starting the Wilderness life support training.

  • After 3 hours of training, lunch will be ready at camp.

  • They will have some rest a little before heading to Soudah for the abseiling training (the sport of descending a rock face or vertical surface using a double rope coiled around the body and fixed at a higher point (Very safe).

  • After that, they will head to Daar Noni Museum and have a cultural tour.
     
  • The day will end as usual with a tasty dinner. The kids will play enjoyable board games for the rest of the night.

Day 4

 

  • As usual, a hearty breakfast will be waiting for the campers at 8AM to get the energy for the 3-hour hike.

  • After that, they will have lunch at the camp before heading to the high city to enjoy views from the hilltop city.

  • The next stop is Al Ragidy Museum, where campers will be introduced to the rich heritage of the Asir region.

  • Kids will then go back to camp to play various games before having dinner and a movie night.

Day 5

 

  • After breakfast, kids will be part of a survival skills training before heading to Al-ajyal Heritage museum for a tich cultural tour.
     
  • The next stop is Arish Restaurant, where campers will have a traditional lunch.
     
  • Then, kids will head to Rijal Almaa to learn and see how the honey is made and taste different types.
     
  • The day will end as usual with a dinner back at camp and a movie night on a projector screen.

Day 6

 

  • This 6th day, campers will have the usual breakfast and a 3-hour hike.
     
  • After that, they will have lunch at camp and head over straight to Al Bastah District to see the Ottoman Bridge.
     
  • They will go see the Shamsan Historical Castle and Aljahl Museum.
     
  • The day ends with the usual free time for the kids to play, dinner and movie night on a projector screen.

Day 7 - Final

 

  • Day 7 is the final day. The day of the farewell and goodbyes.
     
  • It will start with the energetic usual breakfast. Then campers will head to the strawberry farm to plant some trees, collect some fresh fruits and enjoy the place. 
     
  • Then, they will go to Alfann street before heading back to camp for lunch.
     
  • At around 2PM, children will be accompanied to the airport for their flight.

Parents usually ask:

Where will my child sleep?

Each happy camper will get a personal tent (3 x 2 x 1.5 M) with a bed, side table, light and trash bin. The clusters of tents will be segregated by gender and age group.

What about the bathroom?

6 bathrooms. Each camper will get a daily shower with pressurized warm water.

What are the safety measures & what happens in case of emergency?

All our tour and hiking guides have completed first aid training. We only cooperate with licensed specialized guides, subject experts and adventure specialists. In the event of emergency, the persons involved would be attended to by the guides and counselors or taken to the closest hospital if needed.

Note: The closest clinic is 33 km (22 min) and Aseer General Hospital is 38 Km (41 min).

What if my child has allergies or takes medication?

Just let us know after booking, and we’ll make sure that the entire team is aware.

Is there a phone signal at camp?

Yes, there is a full signal at camp and in most locations on the itinerary. Campers can charge their phones and power banks as much as needed from our external batteries. Furthermore, our team has 2 satellite phones with them at all times.

What about the food?

We will supply all campers with 3 freshly cooked meals every day, in addition to healthy snacks. The area has a wonderful variety of organic meats & fruits. If your child requires a special diet, we'll be more than happy to accommodate.

Do the campers need to have cash with them?

Yes. It’s not necessary, but we recommend giving your child SR 500 for the gift shops in the museums.

Who will be looking over my child?

There will be 1 supervisor per 6 campers at all times. 

What is the expected weather forecast?

between 18-30 degrees Celsius.
